Support Our Sky Dive for Tornedale’s Digital Future!

We are incredibly excited to share that one of our amazing staff members (Mrs Shaw) is taking on the ultimate challenge - a sky dive on 14 March 2026! Leaping from 15,000 feet, she’ll be free‑falling for a cause that will have a real and lasting impact on our school community. At Tornedale, we are committed to giving every child the best possible start in an increasingly digital world. As part of the new Digital Strategy that we are currently developing, we aim to transform the IT provision across our Academy - ensuring every learner has access to the tools, technology, and opportunities they need to thrive. But to make this vision a reality, we need your support.

What Will the Funds Be Used For?

Every penny raised from this sky dive will go directly towards enhancing our school’s IT resources, helping us to:

* Upgrade essential devices and classroom technology

* Improve access to tablets, laptops, and digital learning tools

* Support interactive and accessible teaching for all pupils

* Strengthen our digital infrastructure as part of our long-term strategy

These improvements will support not only today’s learners, but generations of pupils to come - opening doors to creativity, communication, and confidence in a digital age.

How You Can Help

By donating - no matter the amount - you’ll be helping Tornedale build a brighter, more connected future for every child. Drinks at School

We have noticed a recent increase in children bringing juice to school in their water bottles, so we wanted to share a quick reminder.

Please remember that children should bring water only in their bottles, unless there has been prior agreement for medical reasons. If a child does arrive with juice in their bottle, a member of staff will replace this with water during the school day.

We kindly ask that children avoid sugary or fizzy drinks, squash, and juice drinks, as the added sugar in these can damage teeth and impact overall health.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us support healthy habits at school.

Homework Survey

Only 8 people completed the recent survey which we sent out about homework. As a school we value your input on things that we do. Please could you take a few minutes to complete this survey so we can evaluate your feedback and thoughts. Click Here to complete it.

Workshop

As part of our school’s involvement in the PINS project, parents and carers are welcome to join a free online webinar with Sadie Charlton, Sensory Occupational Therapist from the Rotherham Sensory Pathway. This live online webinar explores how sensory needs can sit behind behaviour and how understanding this link can support emotional regulation, reduce overwhelm, and improve engagement at home and in school.
